Your Therapist

Whitney Tostenson, MOT, OTR/L, RP

I am the owner and a treating therapist of Radiant Child Therapy. I am originally a New Hampshire native, although, when I started my career as an Occupational Therapist in 2012, I moved to Reno to pursue my passion in Pediatrics.

I have always had a strong draw to work with children, and even more so to work with children with a wide range of difficulties and needs. As a child, I myself suffered from Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), and it wasn't until I was an adult that I learned that all my differences throughout my childhood had a cause, and had an answer. The personal experiences, struggles, and drive to feel better as an adult with SPD, ignited a passion in my career to not only heal myself, but to also help children experiencing the same difficulties. I wanted to feel better and wanted the struggling children of my community to feel the same way.

The treatment techniques that I have found to work, have been integrated into my daily practice, and have also all been used by myself personally. Through the daily implementation of nervous system calming methods and brain growth activities, I have experienced the changes myself and have also witnessed the fast and effective progress countless times in the children I treat. As I continue to learn more about how these central nervous system hiccups occur, it has become my goal to help parents understand how to better help their children thrive and for each child to learn to be confident in their own skin.
